Being a dog parent comes with a lot of responsibility, and that may be something you are thoroughly enjoying. To make your journey with your furry friend all the more existing, we have the review of the popular BarkBox subscription for you. If you are new to them, it is time you get introduced to the best dog subscription box now! We love BarkBox for all the good reasons and so does Max. Let’s get started!
BarkBox is a monthly dog subscription box that ships to U.S and Canada. It is priced at $29 per month and $19 per month for an annual subscription. You can alter your subscription plan or stop it anytime. This subscription box ships dog treats, toys, grooming products, dog chews, etc. All the products sent in the box are made either in the U.S or Canada. They send quality products alone that comes with a fair warning regarding allergies and complete description of the ingredients and contents in the pack.
Moreover, you can choose the box based on the size of your dog. You can make the choices from ‘Small and Cute’ (0-20 pounds), ‘Just Right’ (20-50 pounds), and ‘Big and Bold’ (50+ pounds). This size preference allows you to receive treats and toys that will match your dog’s size and strength. If your energy bundle is a heavy chewer, you can specify that as well! For such persistent teeth, they have the exclusive BarkBox Super Chewer Boxes. They come as ‘Small but Mighty’ (0 to 20 pounds), ‘Middle Weight’ (20 to 50 pounds), and ‘Large and in Charge’ (50 plus pounds). This box type will send your pet the toys that challenge their teeth and time. Additionally, every month highlights a theme and all the goodies sent are centered around it. This is cute and fun for the dog (well, not so much since they care less about the design), and for us!
Now heading to the BarkBox review for August 2017 Small dog box…Max is 1-year-old Daschund. He is small and full of energy. He is healthy and does not suffer from any allergies or sensitive tummy issues so far. However, we are a little conscious when it comes to his diet and have not introduced him yet to a variety of chews or meat that isn’t common. He enjoys BarkBox right from his puppy stage and now awaits his parcel each month with excitement. He is more anxious about the toys and not much about the treats unless it is his choice of meat. Max scrutinizes every goody in the BarkBox parcel and only then we sit for the review. Let’s see how the August BarkBox faired under his examination.
August BarkBox was Sci-Fi specific themed reading: Invasion of the Space Squirrels. The info card was amazing in color and design and also came with glasses to read them. The first bag of treats also had the theme in it- Bark Side of the Moon Treats. These are very small bite-sized chews and come in chewy and cheesy flavor. They are moon shaped (adorable), made in the U.S.A and healthy! The pack reads that the treats are free from soy, wheat, grains, corn, additives, fillers or preservatives. This healthy bag of dog treats has chicken and natural cheese as the main core ingredients and they are perfect for a small sized dog. Max loves them! He does not mind them as a part of his meal or just chews during his training.
Crumps Salmon Snaps
Max isn’t much into fish flavors but these all natural Wild Pacific Salmon snaps have made him go bonkers. This is probably the winner for him in the August BarkBox (more than the toys too!). These snaps are crunchy but easy to chew at the same time. Enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids and essential nutrients that dog requires, you can use these without the fear of preservatives, fillers, and colors. It is also wheat-free, soy-free and grain-free.
Half Pig Ear Chew
Maybe most dogs enjoy chewing on various kinds of bones or meat varieties but Max hasn’t been interested in them so far. He has been into toys. So we gave away this chew to a large dog who knows to relish it.
Tranquilized Trudy Space Squirrel
This 3 eyed crazy looking space squirrel kept Max occupied roundabout. He still has it (in a pretty bad state though for obvious reasons), and loves the fistful fights every now and then. The toy is a fluffy plush with a belly squeaker and it is completely durable for at least a month if your dog isn’t an ardent chewer.
The second toy in the box this month was also a plush. It was in the form of a spacecraft and has a squeaker too. Max loved this as well and loved dragging it along by the tail-like end of it. While the squirrel became an enemy to charge on, the spacecraft was more like a friend.
August 2017 BarkBox subscription box for small dogs was an all-around winner with Max, just like most of the other months. He loved every item in the box and so were we satisfied. BarkBox always has value for money and this month was no surprise. Will be back with more exciting reviews in the next months to come!
