BarkBox for Small Dogs August 2018 Subscription Box Review
It has been quite some time that we met here with an exciting BarkBox subscription box review. However, that does not mean we have stopped enjoying our BarkBox subscription. We continue to have fun welcoming our BarkBox package each month and so does our fur ball. Max, our 2-year-old Daschund is the hero of this review. He is crazy about his Small Dogs BarkBox subscription and so are we. Let’s fill you in!
What is BarkBox Subscription?
For those of you who are still new here, this small introduction may help. BarkBox is a monthly dog subscription box that ships to U.S and Canada. It is priced at $29 per box for one month, $25 per box with a 6-month subscription, and $21 per box with a 12-month subscription. You can alter your subscription plan or stop it anytime. This subscription box will ship dog treats, toys, grooming products, dog chews, etc. All the products sent in the box are made either in the U.S or Canada. They send quality products alone that comes with a fair warning regarding allergies and complete description of the ingredients and contents in the pack.
Moreover, you can choose the box based on the size of your dog. You can make the choices from ‘Small and Cute’ (0-20 pounds), ‘Just Right’ (20-50 pounds), and ‘Big and Bold’ (50+ pounds). This size preference allows you to receive treats and toys that will match your dog’s size and strength. If your energy bundle is a heavy chewer, you can specify that as well! For such persistent teeth, they have the exclusive BarkBox Super Chewer Boxes. They come as ‘Small but Mighty’ (0 to 20 pounds), ‘Middle Weight’ (20 to 50 pounds), and ‘Large and in Charge’ (50 plus pounds). This box type will send your pet the toys that challenge their teeth and time. Super Chewer box is priced at $39 per month for a box, $34 per box for 6 months subscription and $29 per box for an annual subscription. Additionally, every month highlights a theme and all the goodies sent are centered around it. This is cute and fun for the dog (well, not so much since they care less about the design), and for us!
August 2018 BarkBox for Small Dog Subscription Box Review
The theme for August 2018 BarkBox Subscription was Secrets of the Rainfurrest. I must say, the packaging and the toys with the theme were so colorful and interesting. The information card was simply an outburst of creativity! Max is a toy person, and thus he rushed to them first.
BarkBox Three-Toed Monte Plush
To be honest, we thought this plush toy may not grab Max’s attention. But it did! The first toy he rushed towards was this sloth plush toy. It is sturdy enough for a small to medium dog and it has many hidden squeakers and crinkles in different parts of its body. Max did have a great time figuring out where to place his paw and where to chew on to discover more about the noise that the sloth made.
Barkbox Anita The Anteater Dog Plush
This is quite an interesting looking anteater toy. Max loves this one because it makes the perfect tug-of-war enemy for him. The plush by itself is intriguing for him, and the t-shirt rope attached to the tail is just apt to get him crazy to start pulling the toy around. Lasts long with a small to medium size dog who isn’t an avid chewer (should mention this just to warn you I suppose).
Dozers Dental Chews
We couldn’t agree more on how important dog chews are for dog dental hygiene. A good natural dog chew will help to build dental hygiene in dogs. Constructive chewing is advised and the Dozers Dental Chews in the August BarkBox subscription box served that purpose. It is 100% all natural, easy to digest, and gluten-free. As its ingredients, it contains Potato Flour, Powdered Cellulose, Vegetable Glycerin, Water, Brown Rice Flour, Lecithin, Chicken Flavor, Parsley, and Cumin. The reason why we, and Max, found this chew quite interesting was because of its shape. It is a toad-shaped chew! How cool is that for the Rainfurrest theme? It is a hollow toad, perfect in texture to prevent tartar and plaque build up in your dog’s teeth. A great choice to let your dog gnaw away happily and it did for out for us.
Barkbox Bark Of The Wild Trout and Vegetable Blend Treats
Let your pet enjoy some Bark of the Wild Trout. These dog treats are soft, chewy and perfect for a small dog. They are free from fillers, wheat, soy, and corn. It contains plentiful antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber content with its pumpkin and carrots that supplement as natural fillers. All ingredients are sourced and made in the U.S.A for this one, and Max couldn’t stay off these!
Barkbox Bark Of The Wild Pork and Vegetable Blend Treats
The next bag of treats that came with the August BarkBox was pretty much the same as the first one. It had pork as the main meat as an alternative to the trout. It is also rich in veggies and contains more energy, due to the pork liver base. This one seemed harder but still chewy. Max isn’t a big fan of pork, but he never says No for a good great. These treats also have mentioned on their pack that the ingredients are sourced and made in the U.S.A. This also went down his tummy quickly as small bite snacks added to his meals.
That’s the end of the August 2018 BarkBox Dog Subscription Box review for Small Dogs. It has been more than a year since we became committed BarkBox subscribers and it is certainly a smart (and pocket-friendly) decision we had taken for our fur kid. Hope you liked this month’s review and do share with us your experiences with BarkBox- the best dog subscription service!
